As you were likely able to determine from the top of this page, my name is Ellen Bardash. I am a senior studying journalism at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University.
I love writing. Ever since I learned how to read, I knew that I wanted to do something that involved expressing my ideas through written words. In high school, I took my first journalism classes and from then on I knew the career path I wanted to follow was one filled with news stories.
Since I arrived at college in fall of 2014, I’ve fine-tuned my career goals further. When I began working at The New Political in the spring of my freshman year, I discovered the news I found most interesting was that concerning politics and economics.
I’ve continued to expand my journalistic repertoire by working for additional campus publications such as The Black Sheep and at internships with High Paw Media in Columbus, OH, and The Reading Eagle in Reading, PA.
I hope to one day work for a publication that allows me to use these skills and interests to inform the public. While my love of writing is what led me to journalism, my passion for relaying information to readers is what kept me there.
This website is a collection of the work I’ve done for various publications and some other information that will hopefully convince someone to give me a job when I graduate next spring. I’ve also included some less serious things I wrote on an old blog. Please feel free to peruse my work and tell me what you think!
